Jack Plug inhabits the architecture of the skies. The one that hangs from ‘vertical streets’ of some cities of the world, that slide, like Valparaiso, as if they were about to fall down, or turn into horizons that could swallow it all if the oceans should rise.
Valparaiso and its landmarks are not supposed to be minimal. In this case, the 3 musical paintings that André Baradit S. is showing are in a certain way “maximal”.
A mature producer imbued with electronic work experience, his different projects usually generate a good flow sensation.
‘Techno in progress’ could explain what’s coming with ‘LOVE’ (Radio Edit), the track that opens the door to this EP. Jack Plug plays with some kind of “arrhythmia” that is self-sustainable. The latter creates a balanced harmonic feeling, evoking childhood memories at the end.
There are multiple sounds reverberating along the 3 tracks. Also dub-ambient references are made, but without missing the link with the rhythm development and the strength of the bass sound.
‘Feriado’ makes you wonder wheter you are bumping into a russian sailor or intercepting communications of two world power rivals.
Now ‘Feriado’ (the word in spanish for ‘holiday’) becomes a starry night (and not just any night but the one when stars really shine after the lights of the hill’s houses are turned off) and the music is an explotion of stardust like a micro-flare choreography.
‘Investigación’ points to something darker and less defined. The ‘echoing-dub’ has a structure that gives short metal whiplashes, with segments taken from the break-beat style. When the EP Is about to end, maybe we are going to remember the old funiculars and feel lonely when the sirens stop making their typical sounds.

Calles verticales Jack_Plug habita la arquitectura de los cielos; aquella que cuelga de las calles ‘verticales’ de ciertas ciudades del mundo, que se deslizan como Valparaíso a punto de caerse, o volcarse hacia horizontes que bien pudieran tragárselas cuando los oceános se entusiasman demasiado. Valparaíso y sus estampas no suelen ser ‘ minimalistas ‘ , y acaso las 3 pinturas que nos entrega ahora André Baradit se mueven en registros, en cierta medida ‘ maximalistas’. Productor templado y ya empapado por el tiempo en el quehacer electrónico, en sus diferentes proyectos, sus entregas se suelen acompañar de la sensación de flujo y de lo que a veces la descripción de techno en ‘ progresión ‘ podrían dar una idea de lo que ya se anticipa, en ‘ LOVE ( Radio-Edit ) ‘que abre las puertas de este Ep. Acaso jack-plug juega aquí a unas ciertas disritmias que van dando encaje y abriendo un escenario mas abierto en la mitad de su desarrollo y que generan una sensación de armonía.Se intuye a los niños en el cierre. Hay una multiplicidad de sonidos ‘ reverberando ‘ a lo largo de las 3 pistas, y estratos de ‘ dub-ambient ‘ pero sin perder el enlace con el desarrollo rítmico y la fuerza del ‘ bass ‘. En ‘ feriado ‘ en su grandiosidad, acaso nos cruzamos con un marinero ruso, o interceptamos algunas comunicaciones entre potencias enfrentadas. De momento el día festivo se convierte en una noche estrellada ( y de esas únicas, donde las estrellas realmente brillan, cuando se apagan las luces de los cerros ) y la música es una explosión de estelas o una coreografías de micro- llamaradas. ‘ investigación ‘ apunta a algo mas sombrío y menos definido. El ‘echoing- dub ‘ sostiene una estructura que da breves latigazos metálicos, con la insinuación de fracciones de ‘ break beat ‘ . Cuando el ‘ proceso ‘ se esté por cerrar puede que nos recordemos de los viejos funiculares, y nos sintamos mas solos cuando las sirenas hayan dejado de sonar.
